CBS RADIO, a division of CBS Corporation, is one of the largest major-market radio operators in the United States, with stations covering news, sports, talk, rock, country, Top 40, classic hits, and urban formats, among others.

About Lady Antebellum

Lady Antebellum’s upcoming album GOLDEN is out May 7 and was figuratively and literally born on the move. During the band’s 2012 Own The Night World Tour, Lady Antebellum made a point of experimenting with its road band as the miles of travel piled up. That behind-the-scenes interaction inspired much of the music on GOLDEN, an instantly infectious project in which Lady Antebellum discovered new edge for its already-successful foundation. “Downtown,” the album’s funky lead single, shows a new direction as it quickly became the fastest chart-topping single in the band’s career. Since their 2006 inception, the group had risen quickly to become country music’s most influential group. Lady Antebellum won the Vocal Group of the Year honor from both the Country Music Association and the Academy of Country Music three times in a row. Nine of the band’s singles went Gold, with four surpassing the Platinum mark. “Need You Now” went on to sell over seven million downloads, according to the RIAA. Additionally, “Need You Now” claimed five of the trio’s seven career Grammy wins in 2011, including the all-genre “Record of the Year” and “Song of the Year.” For more information, visit www.ladyantebellum.com.

“She Can DJ” Competition To Make Its Debut In the United States This July

CBS RADIO today announced a partnership with Astralwerks to introduce “She Can DJ – America,” a nationwide talent search to find the country’s top female DJ/Producer. After successful programs in Australia and throughout Europe, “She Can DJ” will launch in major markets nationwide this July.

Following local competitions run by CBS RADIO stations in New York, Los Angeles, Chicago, San Francisco, Houston, Boston, Detroit, Phoenix, San Diego, Charlotte and Las Vegas, 12 semi-finalists will be chosen, including one wild-card competitor to vie for a grand prize that includes a recording contract with Astralwerks, and headline a tour through the CBS RADIO markets that took part in the competition.

“Aspiring female DJ’s/Producers need look no further than She Can DJ for that once in a lifetime chance to captivate an entire industry with their talent,” said Greg Strassell, Senior Vice President, Programming, CBS RADIO. “As the competition plays out across our considerable platform of contemporary hit radio stations, participants will be front and center with millions of music fans, and the top decision makers in the business. The electronic dance music movement has been playing out to much success on radio stations all over the United States, and CBS RADIO looks forward to advancing the genre.”

“She Can DJ” is backed up by Astralwerks; a label trusted for bringing the world’s top dance music talent to America for over 20 years. Competitors and fans alike can expect the most authentic talent search for the country’s top female dance music DJ knowing that the team behind such legendary acts as Fatboy Slim, David Guetta, Hot Chip, Swedish House Mafia and The Chemical Brothers will play an integral role in the selection process.

“Seeing how successful She Can DJ was in discovering top female DJ/producer’s in overseas markets it’s the perfect time to launch stateside,” Astralwerks General Manager Glenn Medlinger says. “The United States is the hottest place on earth for dance music right now but the industry is largely male dominated. We’re thrilled to be a part of a program that will help discover and develop top female talent in the dance music space.”

Further details about the competition including rules and regulations will be revealed soon. Visit www.shecandjus.com for the latest updates.

Today, CBS Sports Radio announced the addition of two new shows to the network’s weekend programming, complementing the continuous national coverage already featured across the country. Beginning this weekend, “Eye on Baseball” with host Damon Bruce, will air from 10:00AM-12:00PM EST, Saturdays, and focus on Major League Baseball news and headlines. Each week, Damon will be joined by a rotating group of sports experts who will serve as co-host. Bruce is a long-tenured broadcaster, based out KNBR 1050 in San Francisco, where he hosts “The Damon Bruce Show” weekdays from 12:00-3:00PM PST. “The Damon Bruce Show” also airs nationwide, Saturdays on CBS Sports Radio from 12:00-2:00PM EST/9:00-11:00AM PST, following “Eye on Baseball.” The former ESPN employee also currently serves as post-game host for San Francisco 49ers games and hosts a web series on BleacherReport.com.

In addition to “Eye on Baseball,” CBS Sports Radio will debut the weekly program “Eye on Basketball” this Saturday, which will air from 6:00-8:00PM EST, every Saturday. The show will be hosted by Jody McDonald and CBSSports.com’s NBA insider, Ken Berger. The duo will explore the latest NBA topics and breaking stories. Sports talk show veteran McDonald was an inaugural member of WFAN New York, the first ever 24/7 sports talk station in the country. During his over 25 year career in broadcasting, McDonald has hosted mid days at WFAN, WIP in Philadelphia and ESPN New York, as well as afternoon drive at Sportstalk 950 WPEN in Philadelphia and a Sirius XM program. Award winning journalist Berger serves as the NBA expert for CBSSports.com. He began his career at the Bloomington (Ind.) Herald-Times, continued with The Associated Press (in Alabama, Cleveland, and Philly) and worked for Newsday in Long Island.

Both programs can be heard on many of CBS Sports Radio’s over 275 affiliates nationwide, streaming online at www.cbssportsradio.com and through the Radio.com app for mobile devices.

Local Sports Radio’s Most Listened To Host Will Remain With Nation’s First And Most Successful All-Sports Radio Station

Sports Radio WFAN (660AM/101.9FM) announced today it has signed a long term agreement with Mike Francesa, keeping the venerable personality as host of PM drive (weekdays, 1:00-6:30PM, ET) on the award-winning station for several years to come. Francesa joined WFAN in 1987, the same year the station launched as the country’s first all-sports station, and boasts more listeners than any other local sports radio host.

As part of the agreement, Francesa will also bring his long running Sunday morning “The NFL Now” show to CBS Sports Radio beginning this fall. The program is broadcast live on WFAN from 9:00AM-12:00Noon, ET and will be available to more than 250 affiliate radio stations nationwide.

“Mike has earned his place in radio history as a great broadcaster and we’re thrilled to continue our relationship with sports radio’s most celebrated host,” said Dan Mason, President and CEO, CBS RADIO. “WFAN and Mike Francesa are synonymous with the absolute best in sports programming excellence. These two powerful brands have endured the test of time, and remain a very relevant force in the industry nearly three decades after they first went on the air.”

Added Mark Chernoff, Vice President, Sports Programming, CBS RADIO and WFAN Program Director, “Mike represents the heart and soul of WFAN, and we’re proud he will continue to make the station his long-term broadcast home. Like no one else, Mike can take a story to the next level and involve his listeners in thought provoking ways with topical and opinionated conversation. He has set the standard for what represents an entertaining and informative radio program.”

“I’m very proud of what we have accomplished at WFAN,” says Francesa. “I am also honored and thankful to CBS RADIO for its continued commitment, and most of all to the listeners for their enduring loyalty.”

Francesa has anchored afternoons on WFAN for more than 25 years. He has been recognized with two NAB Marconi Radio Awards, and was voted top sports personality by radio industry publications Talkers and Radio Ink. In addition, he was the recipient of the inaugural Cynopsis: Sports Media Award for Best Radio Program in 2012.

WFAN is available across a variety of multi-media platforms including 660 AM, 101.9 FM, www.wfan.com, and via the Radio.com app for iOS and Android devices. In addition, Francesa’s weekday show can also be seen on The YES Network.

Browns Games to Be Heard on Three Local Stations Starting in 2013 as Part of Expansive Radio Rights Deal

In one of the most expansive radio rights deals in the NFL, the Browns today announced a long-term partnership with two local all-sports stations, CBS RADIO’s 92.3 The Fan (WKRK-FM) and ESPN 850 WKNR, to broadcast all Browns games. CBS RADIO’s WNCX (98.5 FM) will also carry live game action beginning in 2013, as the team will now have a triplecast of games in the local market.

This partnership will directly benefit Browns fans, with a significant enhancement of quality team programming as well as more access to the organization. In addition, the partnership will increase the community outreach and further connect these stations and the Browns to the community through joint philanthropic endeavors, including an annual Radiothon.

In addition to the broadcast of Browns games, 92.3 The Fan and ESPN 850 WKNR also will air extensive pre- and post-game programming. This includes a four-hour pre-game show on ESPN 850 WKNR and a two-hour post-game show on 92.3 The Fan. Both stations will provide extensive coverage of the 2013 NFL Draft, which will be held Thursday, April 25 through Saturday, April 27.

Long-time voices of the Browns, Jim Donovan (play-by-play) and Doug Dieken (analyst) will continue to serve in their current roles. In addition, Jamir Howerton will once again file reports from the Browns sideline.

“We are truly excited to partner with two companies that are so dedicated to Cleveland sports,” said Browns CEO Joe Banner. “This setup ensures that our fans will continue to have easy and frequent access to our game broadcasts as well as extensive shoulder programming. Both ESPN 850 WKNR and 92.3 The Fan are committed to all-sports formats, and we are thrilled that the Browns will be a major part of their lineups on a year-round basis.”

“This model is one of the most expansive and innovative radio rights deals in the NFL and our fans will benefit the most,” added Browns President Alec Scheiner. “Not only do we want to greatly enhance the gameday experience for our fans at the stadium, but we also want to give everyone who tunes in to our game broadcasts as many options as possible. We have heard from our fans how much they enjoy listening to Jim and Doug bring them all of the game action each week, and we are ecstatic that they will continue to be the ‘voices’ of the Browns.”

“We couldn’t be happier that 92.3 The Fan and 98.5, WNCX will help bring the excitement of Cleveland Browns football to fans across Northeast Ohio for many years to come,” said CBS RADIO Cleveland Senior Vice President and Market Manager Tom Herschel. “92.3 The Fan is committed to delivering the highest quality programming and putting fans in the center of the action both on and off the field. Our stations are looking forward to carrying on that tradition with the Cleveland Browns.”

“The Cleveland Browns are at the core of the passion of the Cleveland sports fan, so this partnership will provide official Browns programming and live play by play that our fans crave,” said Good Karma Broadcasting Founder and CEO, Craig Karmazin. “We are elated to partner with the Browns and CBS RADIO to give fans unparalleled access, entertainment and information at a time when interest in the NFL and the Cleveland Browns has never been higher.”

Both 92.3 The Fan and ESPN 850 WKNR, which are joining the PNC Bank Cleveland Browns Radio Network, will carry a multitude of Browns programming elements and content throughout the year. This includes a weekly coach’s show which will air on both stations, in addition to a weekly preview show that will be carried on ESPN 850 WKNR. “Cleveland Browns Daily,” which is hosted by Vic Carucci and airs on ESPN 850 WKNR Monday through Friday from 6:00 – 7:00 p.m., will be expanding to a two-hour format at a time that will be announced in the near future. In all, there is expected to be more than 1,000 hours of Browns-related shows between the two stations on an annual basis. This total is more than double the amount that currently exists.

Additionally, there will be expanded Browns digital offerings on both station web sites, as well as a 24-hour dedicated Browns HD multicast radio station on 92.3 The Fan. More programming elements will be announced in the near future.

LHB Sports, Entertainment & Media, Inc. advised the Browns as this deal progressed.
