BRIAN McKNIGHT NAMED AS THE NEW MORNING SHOW HOST FOR SMOOTH JAZZ 94.7 THE WAVE IN LOS ANGELES
In a groundbreaking move, Smooth Jazz 94.7 The WAVE (KTWV) in Los Angeles has named Warner Bros recording artist Brian McKnight as host of their morning show, it was announced today by Dan Weiner, Vice President and General Manager of The WAVE. THE BRIAN McKNIGHT MORNING SHOW debuts on The WAVE Monday, Jan. 15, 2007 (6:00 – 9:00AM). McKnight will be joined by The WAVE’s veteran morning show co-host, Pat Prescott and Rosemary Jimenez, the show’s producer. "Brian McKnight is an amazing superstar whose mass appeal casts a really wide net for The WAVE,” said Weiner. “Brian's week of guest hosting was all we needed to hear to know that his talent would not only super serve our core listeners but also help draw in an entirely new audience who follow his music across many different formats other than just smooth jazz. He and Pat will make this a seamless transition from five plus years of success with Dave Koz in mornings." Koz, whose heavy 2007 traveling schedule precludes him from continuing to host the show, will sit in with McKnight for his first few shows. Commented McKnight, “The WAVE is one of my favorite radio stations so to be joining the station as host of the morning show is incredibly exciting. Pat and I have a lot of exciting things planned for the show. I can't wait to get started." Grammy nominee McKnight, known for his eloquence and smooth persona, has sold more than 16 million albums since his self-titled debut in 1991.
