STEVE RIVERS NAMED SENIOR VICE PRESIDENT, PROGRAMMING,
INFINITY BROADCASTING
Steve Rivers has
been named Senior Vice President, Programming, Infinity Broadcasting,
it was announced today by Andy Schuon, President, Programming, Infinity
Broadcasting.
The appointment is
effective immediately.
Rivers will be responsible for station strategy and
performance, as well as research and talent development.
He will work alongside Kevin Weatherly,
Senior Vice President, Programming, and be based at Infinity/Los Angeles.
"Steve is a
tremendous addition to Infinity's national programming department," said Schuon.
"He has
proven to be a leader in the radio industry and brings a wealth of experience
and knowledge to the position."
Rivers joins Infinity
from Power Media where he was President &
CEO.
He has also been radio editor and
founding partner at MusicBiz, Senior Vice President and founding partner of
Radio Central, Chief Programming officer at AM/FM, Chancellor Media, Evergreen
Media, and Pyramid Broadcasting.
Prior
to that, Rivers was Senior Vice President, Programming at WXKS-FM Boston,
KIIS-FM/AM Los Angeles, and KMEL San Francisco.
His
contributions to the industry have been recognized by FMQB, who named him
"Program Director of the Decade" for the 1990's, and Billboard Magazine
(Program Director of the Year - 1986).
