JIM O'CONNELL NAMED VICE PRESIDENT,
INFINITY SOLUTIONS AND BEYOND
Jim O'Connell has
been named Vice President, Infinity Solutions and Beyond,
it was announced today by Rich Lobel, Executive Vice President of Infinity
Broadcasting's in-house marketing and sales group.
The appointment is effective immediately.
O'Connell
joins Infinity from the National Football League, where he most recently served
as Vice President in the League's London office
with responsibilities for commercial development for the NFL in Europe.
"Infinity
Solutions and Beyond was designed to develop multi-dimensional radio
marketing
platforms for advertisers," said Lobel.
"The group has quickly become an asset to clients looking to utilize
the
power of radio, and Jim's experience working with the NFL, one of the
nation's
most recognizable brands, will be invaluable as Infinity continues to
look for creative ways to integrate radio into advertisers media
campaigns."
A
10-year veteran of the NFL, O'Connell began his career as Senior Manager for
the Corporate Sales and Marketing Group in 1993 and moved quickly through the
ranks to Senior Director.
In the group,
O'Connell, and the team he managed, was charged with developing and selling
integrated marketing partnerships to some of America's largest corporations,
including Anheuser-Busch, Gatorade, Miller Brewing, Coca-Cola, Frito-Lay,
DirecTV, Campbell's Soup, E&J Gallo, Hershey, Proctor & Gamble, and
FedEx among others.
In 2001, O'Connell
was selected to oversee commercial development for the NFL in Europe,
including the efforts of the six team NFL Europe League.
O'Connell
also served as Associate Product Manager for Frito Lay Incorporated
(1991-93).
He was responsible for the
marketing, promotion, advertising and brand strategy for Lay's & Ruffles
Brand potato chips.
O'Connell
was graduated from Georgetown
University with a degree
in government, where he was a Baker Scholar.
He also received a MBA from Duke's Fuqua School of Business.
O'Connell lives in Philadelphia, with his wife and two children.
