INFINITY BROADCASTING ELECTS NOT TO RENEW AGREEMENT
WITH ARBITRON
Leading Radio Operator Signs Multi-Year Agreement With The Media Audit
Infinity
Broadcasting has elected not to renew its agreement with Arbitron, it was
announced today by Joel Hollander, President and Chief Operating Officer,
Infinity.
At the same time Mr. Hollander
announced the Company has reached a multi-year agreement with The Media Audit
effective July 1.
The market research
firm will provide multi-media ratings, demographics and product usage
information to Infinity's 185 radio stations.
"After
lengthy negotiations with Arbitron, it has become clear that we will be unable
to reach a mutually satisfactory financial arrangement," said Hollander.
"We will ready our company to grow our
business using other means.
The analysis
provided by The Media Audit qualitative product is just one of the
methodologies we will utilize to provide our stations with the highest quality
research needed to compete in their markets."
Infinity
Broadcasting is one of the largest major-market radio operators in the United
States, with stations covering the news, modern rock, oldies, country, FM talk,
classic rock and urban formats.

owns 185 radio stations, the majority of which are in the nation's top 50
