HARRY SHEARER TO SERVE AS INFINITY BROADCASTING'S "UNCONVENTIONAL" CONVENTION CORRESPONDENT FOR
2004 DNC IN BOSTON BEGINNING ON MONDAY, JULY 26

Actor, director and writer Harry Shearer will provide live daily commentary of the Democratic National Convention (DNC) for select Infinity Broadcasting stations, including WBCN-FM and WZLX-FM in Boston, WXRT-FM in Chicago and WARW-FM in Washington, D.C. beginning on Monday, July 26 (see complete list of stations below). Recapping the day's events from the Fleet Center, Shearer's "unconventional" convention reports will feature a comedic commentary on the Democratic Presidential nomination.

The DNC, held from July 26-29 in Boston, will bring together 4,353 delegates and 611 alternates representing each of the 50 states, the District of Columbia, the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico, American Samoa, Guam, the Virgin Islands and Democrats Abroad.

"There's no bad TV show worse than a political convention," said Shearer. "That's while I'll be covering the Democrats on radio."

Shearer previously reported on the 1996 Presidential Conventions and Election, as well as the O.J. Simpson civil trial for Slate.com. Apart from his political and judicial coverage abilities, Shearer's more well-known talents include acting, both in big screen performances such as "This is Spinal Tap," which he co-created, "The Right Stuff," "Wayne's World II," "The Truman Show," and "A Mighty Wind." Shearer also wrote and directed the internationally acclaimed "Teddy Bears' Picnic." His television work has included "Ellen," "Friends," and "Murphy Brown," as well as creating and performing the voice of Mr. Burnes, Smithers, and Ned Flanders, among others, on the hit series "The Simpsons."

Additionally, Shearer was a writer and cast member of "Saturday Night Live" for two seasons, and has his own nationally-syndicated radio program titled "LeShow" now in it's 21st year of production.

Infinity Broadcasting is one of the largest major-market radio operators in the United States, with stations covering the news, modern rock, oldies, country, FM talk, classic rock and urban formats. Infinity owns 185 radio stations, the majority of which are in the nation's top 50 markets and is also home to 29 of the country's leading sports franchises amongst the NFL, MLB, the NBA and NHL.
