QUEEN LATIFAH DEBUTS NEW CD ON CBS RADIO'S KTWV-FM

WAVE Listeners Can Hear Her Newest CD From Start To Finish On Sunday, September 23 At 6 PM, PT

Program Hosted By Queen Latifah Also Available Online At www.947wave.com

Los Angeles’s KTWV 94.7 “The WAVE” will air the exclusive premiere of multitalented and versatile artist Queen Latifah’s newest album, Trav’lin’ Light, on Sunday, Sept. 23 (6:00 PM, PT).  During this special world premiere, the Grammy winning Queen Latifah treats the audience to her new album from beginning to end, while relaying anecdotes about each song, and the special meaning it holds for her.  Fans can log onto the station’s website, www.947wave.com, to hear this exclusive Queen Latifah debut.

Trav’lin’ Light, which hits stores on Sept. 25, covers songs from the greatest jazz, soul and blues artists of all time.  Queen Latifah soulfully infuses a sense of juxtaposition in her fresh, yet nostalgic tribute to the songs she grew up listening to.  Trav’lin’ Light, a reference to both the song with the same title, as well as the sense of relaxation that the album recording process reflected, is a compilation of covers from such talent as Etta James, Roberta Flack, and Nina Simone and includes a guest spot by Stevie Wonder.  The first single from this new album is a cover of “Poetry Man” by Phoebe Snow.

The WAVE 94.7 KTVW-FM is a true powerhouse in Southern California radio, maintaining top ratings for twenty years.  Even with its mass appeal, the WAVE remains distinctively different from anything else on the radio dial.  Considered “Smooth Jazz” by its listeners, The WAVE provides the ultimate “chill-out” soundtrack for unwinding, while the station's energy and tempo results in a compelling and memorable foreground sound.  The WAVE, the new home for The Brian McKnight Morning Show, hosted by the Grammy nominated recording artist, is owned and operated by CBS RADIO.
