INFINITY BROADCASTING TO LAUNCH ONLINE STREAM OF
ITS LEADING ALL-NEWS STATIONS INCLUDING 1010 WINS, KNX-AM,
WBBM-AM, KCBS-AM, KYW-AM AND WBZ-AM, AMONG OTHERS
Legendary News/Talk Stations KMOX-AM In St. Louis, Pittsburgh's KDKA-AM And KRLD-AM In Dallas Also Set To Launch on Monday, March 14
Infinity
Broadcasting today announced it will make available beginning on Monday,
March 14 streaming audio of 11 of its leading news and news-talk
stations.
The announcement was made by
Joel Hollander, Chairman and CEO, Infinity.
The all-news
stations to be streamed include 1010 WINS (New York), KFWB-AM (Los Angeles),
KNX-AM (Los Angeles), WBBM-AM (Chicago), KCBS-AM (San Francisco) KYW-AM
(Philadelphia), WBZ-AM (Boston), and WWJ-AM (Detroit).
Legendary news-talk stations KMOX-AM (St.
Louis), KDKA-AM (Pittsburgh) and KRLD-AM (Dallas) will also be available via
their station websites.
Infinity's other
all-news station, WCBS-AM, was previously launched online last December.
"The millions of
people who tune in to our radio stations are increasingly looking for
alternative ways to receive the information vital to their everyday lives,"
said Hollander.
"And as more and more
listening is being done away from home and the car, we must extend our stations
beyond their dial positions to meet the needs of the consumer.
We believe streaming our stations online will
not only exceed their expectations, but will also create an outlet with which
we can target a larger audience and increase time spent listening."
Infinity's
all-news stations are among the most listened to stations in their respective
markets and reach an estimated 12 million listeners per week.
1010 WINS is the most listened to news
station across the country.
In addition,
1.5 million people tune into KMOX, KDKA and KRLD.
Announcements on
other formats to be streamed by Infinity will be made at a later date.
Infinity is one
of the largest major-market radio operators in the United States, with stations
covering the news, modern rock, oldies, country, FM talk, classic rock and
urban formats, among others.
