KEVIN ROBINSON NAMED VICE PRESIDENT, HOT AC PROGRAMMING
Kevin Robinson has been named Vice President of
Infinity Broadcasting's Hot AC Programming, it was
announced today by Rob Barnett, President of Programming.
Robinson has served as the Program Director
for KYKY-FM in St. Louis
since September 2004.
He will continue
with his day-to-day responsibilities at the station.
The appointment is effective immediately.
"Kevin first impressed Infinity while at WJMK-FM and
now he has led KYKY to a position of prominence in St. Louis," said Barnett.
"He has the commitment and the new ideas to
represent the best fleet of Hot AC stations in the country."
Infinity Broadcasting owns and operates 18 Hot AC
stations.
Throughout his
24-year broadcasting career, Robinson has enjoyed great success at a variety of
formats, including Hot AC, CHR, Oldies, Rock, News/Talk, Christian Talk and
Contemporary Christian.
He returned to
Infinity following a stint at 106.7 The Fish WZFS-FM and WYLL-AM in Chicago (2002-04), where
he helped guide WZFS to record ratings.
Robinson previously was Program Director for Infinity's Oldies 104.3
WJMK-FM and WJJD-AM in Chicago.
Robinson
began his career at WBWB-FM in Bloomington,
Ind. as on-air talent
(1981-84).
Following his graduation from
Indiana University
in 1984, Robinson was named Assistant Program Director/Music Director for
WLRS-FM in Louisville, Ky.
He also served as on-air host and assisted in shifting the station from
Rock to CHR.
From 1987-89,
Robinson served as Assistant Program Director/Music Director and Research
Director for KOY-AM in Phoenix.
He joined WVIC-FM in Lansing,
Mich. in August 1989 as Program Director, and
was later named Program Director for WBUF-FM in Buffalo.
Robinson served six years in the Army Reserve National
Guard (1981-86) and also attended the U.S. Army Computer School and Officer
Candidate School.
Robinson has been an
active volunteer with youth sports (AYSO)
and the YMCA (Y-Guides) for more than
10 years, and has done work with World Vision and Food For
The Poor.
He also has coached
talent and consulted stations in San Francisco, Indianapolis, Madison, Sacramento and Tampa.
He resides in St. Louis with his wife, and three children.
