CBS RADIO FIRST BROADCASTER TO WELCOME A DEDICATED IN-HOUSE ARBITRON PPM TRAINER
Arbitron’s Jon Miller Leads Efforts to Help Advertising Executives Understand How to Effectively Use PPM Data to Increase Sales
NEW YORK, January 24, 2007 – Arbitron Inc. (NYSE: ARB) today announced that CBS RADIO is the first broadcaster to be assigned a dedicated in-house Arbitron Portable People Meter™ (PPM™) trainer to educate advertising executives on use of PPM data for their sales efforts. Arbitron’s Jon Miller has been promoted to the newly created position of CBS RADIO PPM Account Manager and, along with a five-person PPM Implementation team, will provide extensive hands-on PPM training to CBS RADIO advertising executives.
Miller, who will work under the supervision of Scott Herman, executive vice president, Eastern Region, CBS RADIO, will head the two-year training program, which begins this month. He and his team will focus on the top 10 CBS RADIO markets, and work with CBS RADIO’s media-buying and advertising agencies educating them on the use of PPM data to effectively reach their audiences.
"An in-house trainer will provide CBS RADIO with insight to harness the benefits of the PPM ratings data through the transition phase and demonstrate the effectiveness of electronic measurement for advertisers looking to further target their audiences. By taking the lead in providing advertisers with more information our clients will be able to make better informed and therefore more confident investments with radio,” said Herman.
Prior to this promotion, Miller served as a regional training service consultant in which he was responsible for training radio customers on Arbitron’s RSS software in 15 markets. He joined Arbitron in 2004 after having worked at Westwood One Radio Network as a regional manager in sports affiliate sales.He holds a bachelor’s from the University of Maryland in College Park, Md.
