KURT JOHNSON NAMED VICE PRESIDENT, JACK PROGRAMMING
Kurt
Johnson has been named Vice President, JACK Programming,
it was announced today by Rob Barnett, President, Programming, Infinity
Broadcasting.
The appointment is
effective immediately.
Johnson
will continue to serve as Vice President, Programming, Infinity Dallas and
Program Director of KJKK-FM and KOAI-FM in Dallas.
"As Program Director of our
first JACK station, Kurt has been instrumental in the format's adoption at
several Infinity stations across the country," said Barnett.
"He has successfully guided KJKK to a
position of leadership in the market where it now ranks among the most listened
stations in Dallas.
Kurt's first-hand experience will be
invaluable to Infinity as we continue to evolve our eight JACK stations."
The
30-year veteran radio programmer began his career as an on-air personality in
1974.
His first job as Program Director
was in 1988 at WFYR-FM in Chicago
(1988-91).
Throughout his tenure in the radio industry,
he has successfully programmed Classic Rock, Oldies, AC, Top 40 and Smooth Jazz
stations, including WLTW-FM (1991-96) and WAXQ-FM (1996-97) in New York and WLCE-FM in Philadelphia (1997-2001).
Johnson
first joined Infinity in 2001 as Program Director of KVIL-FM in Dallas.
He also served as National Program Director
for Viacom Radio from 1994-97.
