JAY SEVERIN TO JOIN INFINITY BROADCASTING AS TALK SHOW HOST FOR SELECT STATIONS IN THE TOP 10 RADIO MARKETS
Jay Severin has been named as a talk show host for select Infinity
Broadcasting stations, it was announced today by Rob Barnett, President
of Programming, Infinity. A complete list of stations that will
broadcast the weekday show (Time TBD) will be announced at a later
date. JAY SEVERIN HAS ISSUES will make its debut in January 2006.
"Jay has one of the most incisive minds in talk radio and brings
passion and intelligence to every issue," says Barnett. "He joins a
growing roster of talent at Infinity committed to delivering compelling
original content."
"Talk radio is the frontier, the guardian, and the center stage of
the issues of American daily life." says Severin. "We are the
contemporary town meeting, the village square, the genuine vehicle of
our greatest liberties - free speech and fun. This show will be for
people who choose to know something new and entertaining about real
life issues."
For 20 years, Severin was in private practice as a national
political and media consultant, advising candidates and incumbents in
more than thirty major campaigns for Governor, U.S. House, U.S. Senate,
and President. He currently hosts a top-rated PM drive program in
Boston.
Severin is a former MSNBC political analyst, appearing frequently on
various NBC News programs, and also was an award-winning featured
columnist for MSNBC.com. His extensive media work also includes
contributions to the BBC, CBS, ABC, PBS, CNBC, CNN, and foreign
television networks in Ireland, Japan and Australia, as well as the New
York Times, Wall Street Journal, Washington Post, Newsweek and Business
Week. He has authored op-ed articles for the New York Times, Boston
Globe and San Francisco Chronicle, and is a frequent guest on the "IMUS
IN THE MORNING" radio program.
Severin was a 2004 nominee for the Marconi Award for Radio Personality of the Year, the radio industry's highest distinction.
Severin spent considerable time during his teenage years engaged in
the Vietnam era war protests with his early political/media mentors
Abbie Hoffman and Jerry Rubin. He was graduated from Vassar College's
first co-ed class. Severin currently resides in his family's Sag Harbor
home.
