DAVE ROBBINS NAMED DIRECTOR, DIGITAL PROGRAMMING,
INFINITY BROADCASTING
Dave Robbins has been named Director, Digital
Programming, Infinity Broadcasting, it was announced today by
Joel Hollander, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer, Infinity.
The appointment is effective immediately.
Robbins additional responsibilities consist of overseeing
Infinity's HD radio efforts and strategy, primarily the
development and expansion of the Company's multicast
stations. He will continue in his current position as Vice
President and General Manager of WUSN-FM and WJMK-FM in Chicago.
Robbins has been with Infinity since 1998.
"Dave had an integral role in the successful development
and launch of Infinity's two multicast stations,
Chicago's WUSN-FM 99.5 HD-2 and WJMK-FM HD-2, and has
distinguished himself as one of the leaders in the
industry," said Hollander. "Under his guidance, I am
confident Infinity will reach new heights in making the best use
of the technology for listeners and advertisers."
Infinity's WUSN-FM 99.5 HD-2 and WJMK-FM
HD-2 in Chicago are among the first stations in the nation to
continuously program HD Radio multicast channels. Later this
month, Robbins will receive the 2005 "Quality Award"
from the Chicago chapter of American Women In Radio and
Television for his dedication to commercial radio's use of
multicasting technology.
Robbins is an industry veteran with more than 25
years of experience in programming and managing leading radio
stations. In 1998, he joined Infinity as Market Manager for its
Columbus cluster of stations (WLVQ-FM, WHOK-FM, WAZU-FM). He was
promoted to Vice President and General Manager of WBBM-FM in
Chicago in 2003, and has served as Vice President and General
Manager of WUSN and WJMK since 2004.
From 1995-98, Robbins was the General Manager of Nationwide
Communications' WNCI-FM and WCOL-FM in Columbus. Prior to
that, he was the Vice President of Programming for Nationwide
Communications managing Houston, Dallas, Phoenix, Columbus,
Orlando, Las Vegas and other Nationwide markets from 1985-95.
Robbins held a variety of positions at CBS Radio's WBBM,
where he helped launch the CHR format, and KHTR-FM in St. Louis
from 1982-85.
Robbins resides in Naperville, Ill. with his wife, Patti, and
their son Daniel.
