CBS RADIO'S DAN MASON WINS RADIO AND RECORDS NATIONAL RADIO AWARD FOR RADIO GROUP EXECUTIVE OF THE YEAR


Many CBS RADIO Stations And Employees Honored For Industry Achievement Awards


Radio and Records have announced the winners of their 2008 Awards and CBS RADIO won honors in many of the top categories.  First and foremost, the company’s President and CEO, Dan Mason won the highest distinction, the National Radio Award for Radio Group Executive of the Year.  This exceptional honor recognized Mason’s leadership, industry expertise, visionary insight and passion, along with his forward thinking ideas which have helped to poise the radio industry for further success in the future.  

In addition to this prestigious achievement, many of CBS RADIO’s stations and employees were acknowledged with Industry Achievement Awards.  KROQ in Los Angeles received multiple awards in the Alternative category including Station of the Year: Markets 1-15, while the station’s Kevin Weatherly won for Operations Manager or Program Director of the Year, Lisa Worden won for Music Director of the Year and Kevin & Bean won for Personality or Show of the Year.   

In the Oldies/Classic Hits category WCBS-FM in New York won Station of the Year, KRTH Los Angeles’ Jhani Kaye won for Operations Manager or Program Director of the Year, and WOGL Philadelphia’s “Ross Brittan & The Breakfast Club” won for Personality or Show of the Year.   

CBS RADIO stations were also successful in the Rhythmic category, winning Station of the Year: Markets 16-50 for WLLD in Tampa, while WBBM-FM in Chicago prevailed as Station of the Year: Markets 1-15 and the station’s Erik Bradley was named Music Director of the Year.  

 WUSN in Chicago won two awards in the Country category, being recognized as Station of the Year: Markets 1-15, as well as Marci Braun’s distinction of Music Director of the Year.  Awards were also received by WBMX in Boston for Hot AC Station of the Year: Markets 1-15 and Mike Mullaney’s win for Music Director of the Year.  Atlanta took home the top prize of Station of the Year: Markets 1-15 for WVEE, and KEZK in St. Louis was named AC Station of the Year: Markets 16-50.
