CBS Radio Station WUSN-FM Chicago Honored By Country Music Association As Station Of The Year
CBS RADIO station WUSN US 99.5 was honored as Country Music
Station of the Year in Markets 1-25 this week by the Country
Music Association.
The 2006 CMA Broadcast Awards were announced on-air during
WUSN's morning show by CMA Awards nominee Little Big Town
on Monday, October 2. The band spoke with morning show hosts Ray
Stevens, Lisa Kosty & Bonnie Greene and congratulated them on
the station's achievement. CMA nominated artists have
delivered the exciting news to CMA Broadcast winners every year
since 2000.
US 99.5, "America's Country Station," is the
largest and most listened to country music radio station in the
United States. WUSN was judged on airchecks, ratings history,
community involvement and leadership by the CMA Awards
committee. WUSN's leadership is especially noted in their
establishment of a continuously programmed HD Radio multicast
channel.
CMA Radio Station of the Year and other CMA Broadcast Awards
recipients will be recognized during "The 40th Annual CMA
Awards." Winners receive their trophies during
pre-telecast ceremonies and will be acknowledged during the live
broadcast on November 6.
