Jimmy (“J.D.”) Gonzalez has been named Program Director for CBS RADIO’s KMVK-FM (“MEGA 107.5”) and Vice President, Spanish Programming, CBS RADIO, effective immediately.

 

“Jimmy is a leader in our industry and an expert in this format,” said Brian Purdy, Senior Vice President and Market Manager, CBS RADIO Dallas-Fort Worth. “We’re going to benefit from his experience, and he will help us continue to propel MEGA forward in North Texas.”

 

“Jimmy has been a tremendous programmer to compete against,” said Greg Strassell, Senior Vice President, Programming, CBS RADIO, “and we are excited to bring his expertise in-house to our Spanish language stations in Dallas, Houston, Washington and Tampa.”

 

Gonzalez has more than 20 years’ experience in broadcast management, marketing and programming.  Most recently, he spent six years as Senior Vice President of Programming at Univision Communications in Dallas. Prior to that, he held programming and operations positions with Univision and Hispanic Broadcasting at stations in Houston and San Antonio.  He began his career in the Rio Grande Valley and Corpus Christi.

Gonzalez earned his undergraduate degree from the University of the Incarnate Word in San Antonio and holds an Executive MBA from the University of Texas San Antonio. He has served in advisory roles for the National Association of Broadcasters and St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
