Respected music industry publication, Billboard, has announced the names of those individuals on their eighth annual Power Player list of ‘Women in Music’.  Lisa Worden, Assistant Program Director and Music Director of CBS RADIO’s KROQ in Los Angeles, was named to the prestigious list for the third consecutive year.

Billboard’s Women in Music issue, which remains among the most awaited from the publication, honors strong, passionate and dedicated females who positively impact the world of music.  Each year, hundreds of powerful candidates are submitted for consideration, and the list is narrowed down by Billboard editors to represent the best and brightest women in the industry.

Worden, who has been an influential fixture at the World Famous KROQ for nearly 18 years, is known throughout the radio and alternative music world for her ability to break new music.  She is also heralded for discovering emerging talent before they hit it big, and helping them gain the necessary recognition to do just that.  Under Worden’s leadership, KROQ remains the leading and most listened to alternative station in the country.

Concurrent with the special issue of the magazine, Billboard will recognize its extraordinary Power Players at a special ‘Women in Music Event’.  Worden, along with the other distinctive and dominant women, are invited to attend a celebration on Friday, Nov. 30 in New York City, where pop icon Katy Perry will be feted as Billboard’s Woman of the Year.

Check out the themed issue, which will feature an interview with Worden, on newsstands in December.
