Today’s Advertising Age, the leading publication for marketing and media,
unveiled its list of Media Vanguard Award winners and CBS RADIO’s Radio.com
iPad App was recognized for revolutionizing digital radio.  Radio.com was named alongside several leading
companies including VEVO, Walmart,
USA Today, Martha
Stewart, Wired, the Wall Street Journal, and Kraft, among others, for its best
in class radio application.  Hundreds of
entries were cast, and Radio.com on iPad was deemed “The Best iPad App to
Make You Love Radio Again
.”

Advertising Age’s inaugural 2010 Media
Vanguard Awards seek to recognize and honor innovative publishers and
broadcasters who use technology to create “transformative, next-generation
media” to expand their company’s reach and connect with their audiences in new
ways.

Cited for standing “way out from the competition,”
providing “copious info and photo galleries,” and for being full of
“above-and-beyonds,” the Radio.com app lets users listen to a diverse lineup of
over 550 professionally programmed music stations from CBS RADIO, AOL Radio and
Yahoo! Music, and at least three dozen news, talk and sports stations from
across the nation, while also browsing an expansive array of news, artist
information, photo galleries, and social networking feeds. The ability to
search stations by genre and location enhances the user experience, and
Last.fm’s proprietary scrobbling technology is driving an extra layer of interactivity
no other radio company can offer.

Radio.com’s
user-friendly application has been available on the iPad since it launched in
April and is the ultimate online destination for radio listening, giving users
radio they can touch, read and hear.  The
application provides endless hours of engaging streaming news and entertainment
for its tech-savvy, multifaceted users.
