Katy Perry, two-time Grammy
nominee and one of pop's biggest breakout stars, joins the CBS Interactive
Music Group for an exclusive "Live on Letterman" webcast concert, Tuesday,
Aug. 24 (live 8:00 PM, ET/5:00 PM, PT).
As a part of the ongoing concert series, Katy will perform the live
webcast concert from the historic Ed Sullivan Theater and will play a few of her
biggest hits, as well as new songs from her eagerly anticipated second album, Teenage Dream, which will be released
the same day as her "Live on Letterman" performance.
Through this
interactive collaboration between television, radio and the Internet, fans can
connect with their favorite talent in a multiplatform setting, accessible
on-air, online and on-demand. CBS will
promote and broadcast the webcast across the Company's multiple assets, with
the live concert streaming on the LATE SHOW website (www.cbs.com/late_night/late_show)
and airing that night on select CBS RADIO stations throughout the country. Additional access to live and on-demand video
of the concert will be available through CBS Television Station websites,
TV.com, ETonline.com and theinsider.com, while Last.fm and mp3.com will promote
and drive tune-in through CBS.com. Furthermore,
as part of CBS Interactive Music Group's partnership with VEVO, VEVO.com will
webcast Katy's live performance with the archived on-demand broadcast available
through a VEVO player on VEVO.com and VEVO on YouTube.
Katy's exclusive
webcast will follow the taping of her appearance on the LATE SHOW with DAVID
LETTERMAN, which will be broadcast later that evening, Tuesday, August 24
(11:35 PM-12:37 AM, ET/PT), on the CBS Television Network.
Katy Perry
returned to her hometown of Santa
Barbara, Calif. for
inspiration on her second album, Teenage
Dream. The two-time Grammy nominated
singer sold over five million copies of her debut album, One of the Boys, and her latest single, "California Gurls,"
is setting her up for a repeat success.
Her whimsical pop songs "I Kissed a Girl," "Hot N Cold,"
"Thinking of You" and "Waking Up in Vegas" have sold more
than 22 million digital tracks and mobile products worldwide. Because Katy writes her own material, her
lyrics are filled with truth and an infectious will to have fun. Those efforts have won her Best New Act at
the Europe Music Awards, Best Pop Video at the MTV Japan Awards and International
Female Solo Artist at the Brit Awards.
