CBS RADIO’s 92.3 NOW (WXRK-FM) in New York today announced the welcome addition of the multi-talented Nick Cannon as the station’s morning drive host, weekdays from 6:00-10:00AM, ET.  Beginning on Tuesday, January 19, 2010, Cannon will be heard on-air, online at and through a variety of mobile devices including the iPhone, iPod Touch, Blackberry and Zune.  The four-hour program anchored by Cannon will feature a mix of the most popular music, celebrity interviews, and pop culture and lifestyle discussions.

“I have been immersed in the entertainment business for more than half my life,” said Cannon.  “With continued success in television, film and music both on and off camera, in addition to directing, writing and producing, radio is both an exciting and natural next step in my career.  I look forward to waking up audiences and making friends across the tri-state area on New York’s Hit Music Channel, 92.3 NOW.”

Cited in People magazine’s “Sexiest Man Alive” issue as “Top Host,” Cannon was also previously honored by the leading entertainment publication as one of the “Top Ten Most Successful Young People in Hollywood.”  Additionally, Cannon has been featured on the cover of Black Enterprises’ “40 Under 40” issue and on the most recent cover of Giant magazine’s “Power” issue.

The San Diego native is well-known for his success in various entertainment fields and is currently the host of the hit NBC show, “America’s Got Talent.”  He has starred in such films as “Drumline,” “Garfield: The Movie,” “Shall We Dance,” “Roll Bounce,” “Bobby” and “Underclassman,” which he also executive produced.  Cannon was a writer and an actor for Nickelodeon’s hit show “All That,” starred, directed and executive produced “The Nick Cannon Show,” and had his own improv comedy show on MTV, “Nick Cannon Presents Wild N Out.” 

In addition, Cannon released his own self-titled debut album in 2003 and has collaborated with a host of musicians such as Kanye West, Diddy, Mary J. Blige and Will Smith, among others, on soundtracks and special projects.

Cannon recently launched his own multi-media company called NCredible Entertainment, which has several TV shows and films in development, and an expanding music label with rising artists such as the School Gyrls, Corey Gunz, Aaron Fresh, Collette Carr and RydazNRtist to name a few.  He also was named Chairman of TeenNick, Nickelodeon’s 24-hour network exclusively for and about teens.

92.3 NOW launched on Wednesday, March 11.  Since its debut, the station has consistently performed well with its adult 18-34 target audience.  According to Arbitron’s most recent monthly ratings (October 15- November 11), the station received its highest listenership to date among adults 18-34 and also ranked No. 1 with teens.  With nearly three million weekly listeners, NOW is among the fastest growing stations in the New York market.
